All my life, for as long as I can remember, I had always wanted to be a medical doctor, build Africa’s largest and most effectively working hospital and be a force for positive change in Nigeria’s health care system. Imaginations about my future had me in scrubs and lab coat, administering treatment to sick people.
I pursued my dreams by applying to medical school. I wrote JAMB four times, WAEC thrice and finally got admission to study Genetics and Biotechnology after one year of Pre-degree program. Even when I got admission to study medicine abroad, sponsorship failed me.
I can’t explain why, but as I stand, those medical dreams don’t exist anymore. ONE NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE YEAR changed everything. I was made the Head of Rugged FM (Youth Corpers Live Radio) And assistant Bible Study Secretary of NIGERIAN CHRISTIAN CORPERS FELLOWSHIP IBADAN SOUTH ZONE and this exposed me to speaking and writing in ways I never knew I could.
I might never be able to treat physical bodies like I dreamed to. Now all I want to do is TREAT MINDS WITH MY WORDS – SPOKEN AND WRITTEN (GOD’S WORDS actually), be my man’s greatest fan and raise my children to fulfill their dreams.
With Jesus, broken dreams and frustrating chapters still make a beautiful story.
