Adam’s eyes tingle as the approaching army of beasts come into clearer view. The grass beneath his feet, though wet with dew, hold his feet steady. God had told him it wasn’t good for him to be alone. He had left Adam immediately, now He was back, surrounded by over 500,000 animals, bugs, and birds. He looked from beasts to He who created them and sighed. He knew what to do. He had to give them names, each one of these first specie of crawling and flying things, a general name for each family of animal, bug, reptile and bird.
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him (Genesis 2:19-21).
Did He…Actually?
Adam stands, the first man to walk and talk on the very day he was born, an actual first of his kind. Created with a mind so great he could be friends with God and understand Diety perfectly. Let us recall that the reason for his existence in the first place is for the Father-God’s craving for fellowship.
Therefore His mental capacities were such that his mind could comprehend and fellowship the mind of the creator. With a mind full of pre-stored data of language (No one taught him to talk), movement(he wasn’t taught how to walk), and so much more (he just knew things), he named each bug, bird, reptile, fish and animal. What a mind!! What a brain!.
Scientists confirm that The human brain does have amazing capacity for thought and learning (even in humans affected by the fall), a capacity so great that its information content could fill millions of volumes of books! We have often heard that humans today utilize only 10-20% of our brain’s capacity.
Man was in his perfect state when he named all animals. He was beyond superman. He was God in flesh- His perfect image and likeness. The effects of the Fall are enormous:
- Our understanding was darkened (Ephesians 4:18; I Corinthians 2:14),
- Our hearts became deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9,10),
- Our minds and consciences were defiled (Genesis 6:5; Titus1:15), and
- Our wills were weakened (Romans 7:18)
God’s Word is true. Adam named all living creatures. And we can see how he could- he was operating at humanity’s fullest capacity.
Emmm…superb Mercy. Amazing insight. I just felt myself become more intelligent
Wow.
Thanks Too.
Full capacity. Amazing piece. ✨
Thank you
